Preaching the Gospel of St. Louis Cardinal Baseball

Welcome Back, Rolen

Posted by The Right Reverend on April 3, 2006

Left work early for a couple of reasons, first of all it's my fourth wedding anniversary today, second-to watch the game of course. It doesn't get much better then this.

Quick thoughts on the game thus far-

  • First and foremost, I feel great for Scott Rolen. A grand-slam in his first game back, inf front of the crabby Philly fans none the less.
  • That was a heck of a play from David Eckstein chasing down that foul ball. With that sorta hustle, no wonder he's such a fan favorite.
  • Aaron Miles has helped his cause for playing time today, he's a homerun away from hitting for the cycle. (It could happen!)
  • It figures that Albert hit the first homerun of the season and scored the first homerun. (Oh, make it the third, this is a massacre.) 4 RBI's in 5 innings. Yikes.

We didn’t get to see the game today – our MLB extra innings hasn’t seemed to kick in yet but hopefully by tomorrow!

But we saw highlights of the game and you are right – it was nice seeing Scotty Rolen back in good form and hitting a home run in front of the Philly fans – guess you never know what you had until its gone 🙂 lol

And whoa – how about our Albert Pujols!???

    LOVE OUR CARDS!
